Finding Fulfillment | How to find fulfillment
What I am to tell you right now might surprise you, but it's true. Ok, this is it," No matter how much wealth, fame, or friends you acquire, there will always be a gap, or let's call it a longing in your heart that can never be filled. No material things or natural thing can fill it".
Haven't you heard stories of men and women who were thought to be great and wealthy yet commit suicide? Maybe I'm going to far, let's talk about you. Sincerely, look into your life, you know you more than I do, there's a longing deep-seated in your heart for something you can't place your hands on. Many people felt that longing and thought money, fame, friends, drinks, and ladies could fill it but it only did that temporarily...
Everyone born into the earth is born that way...void of fulfillment. That's what Adam lost in the garden of Eden. And because naturally you and I have Adam as our forefather, we were born with that longing for a sense of fulfillment. But there's a solution, a permanent one.
It's in the Word, 'And because God is the source and sustainer of everything, everything finds fulfillment in him. May all praise and honor be given to him forever! Amen!' Rom 11:36. I always emphasize the authenticity of the Word. If the word says it then there's no two ways about it, it.
The only way you can fill that void and find true and lasting fulfillment is in God. Stop trying to get it through your job or your spouse or friend or your money. They can't give you lasting fulfillment. Be true to yourself. You have tried various ways and you know it didn't last. Why not turn to what will last forever.
Fulfillment comes through God and is sustained through fellowship and intimacy with Him. The first step is to have God in your life through Jesus Christ. And the next is to stay connected to Him through a real relationship. God is your fulfillment and without Him, there's only void.
For many years of my life I sought that fulfillment, I sought that satisfaction, I was the senior prefect in school, I was a chorister at church, I represented in various quiz competitions and won some, and my family was comfortable. Yet I had low self-confidence, and almost sank into depression countless times, there was just something missing but I couldn't place my hands on it.
Things changed for me when God reached out to me and found me. He changed my life. I was in my first year at the university at the time. Not only did I surrender my life to Jesus Christ but the Holy Spirit helped me sustain a relationship with Him through my church at the time. And since then till now, my life has only gotten better. I have not yet achieved everything I want to but I am fulfilled on the inside and that fulfillment will make me achieve even more than expectations.
This is God reaching out to you today! What you looking for is in Him. It's in a relationship with Him. There's no specific way to start or go about it. Just do what He's laying in your heart to do now. He wants to change your life and make it continually better, just as he made mine.
